SPEAKS Cosmos No. 2 · Perseids: Meteor shower in a unique vineyard
With their eyes set on Perseus, on August 10, 2024, a group of cosmonauts embarked on a unique journey to the stars from the singularity of the SPEAKS vineyard in Trujillo. Following the success of the first edition of this astrotourism experience, which featured the Full Moon, SPEAKS Cosmos No. 2 Perseids It focused on the meteor shower that occurs every year around August 10, coinciding with the feast day of the Spanish martyr of the same name.
Located on a large plain, far from the light emission of Trujillo and without other points of light around it, HABLA is a privileged place for observing the night sky from which we can see a large number of celestial objects and treasures, as well as Enjoy the tears of San Lorenzo in a unique setting.
The adventure included a full visit to the winery, a stellar tapas dinner and HABLA wines and Observation of the Perseids and other celestial objects in the vineyard SPEAKS. For the development of this astrotourism experience we have the direction of the oenology and wine tourism team of Bodegas HABLA and the Astronomical disseminators of the “Extremadura, Good Night” strategy with its professional telescopes and screen projection system.

ASTROTOURISM EXPERIENCE IN THE SPEAKING VINEYARD
On the hottest afternoon of the summer, the crew landed at Bodegas HABLA with a glass of our Sauvignon Blanc HABLA de ti…, nice and cold, to temper the atmosphere.
The adventure took off with the explanation of the activity and the story of the philosophy and history of HABLA. Astronomy and organic viticulture maintained a curious parallelism with winemaking as the common threadThe origin of the HABLA brand and our famous “Intrigue Material”, which never fails to surprise even the greatest HABLA wine enthusiast, served as a prelude to the visit to the winery facilities.
As if boarding a space shuttle, the cosmonauts began this stellar journey through Our production room; with its imposing overhead crane and our special OVIS (Identified Flying Object), which allow the grapes to be transported by height to the fermentation tanks.
Later, we landed at the Barrel Room, also known as The Cathedral, a place where time and space merge to shape the perfection of each HABLA wine; and end in the TALKTheca, a treasure that guards the collection of our most representative vintages.
As night fell, the most anticipated moment arrived: the tasting of four HABLA wines along with the tasting of gastronomic tapas with astronomical aesthetics to harmonize the night. Binary stars, Phobos and Deimos, Binoculars, Lunar Regolith and Planetary Ring for dessert; they were the perfect appetizer to the explanations that would come during the stargazing.
RAIN OF STARS IN EXTREMADURA
Immersed in the darkness of the sea of vineyards SPEAKS, the team of astronomical disseminators of the “Extremadura, Good Night” strategy They guided us through the wonders of the night sky. All of this, accompanied by a glass of HABLA de ti… Rosé wine that offered a touch of distinction to the closing of this unique activity.
In addition to the shooting stars that could be seen with the naked eye, with the help of professional equipment (telescopes, laser pointers and a screen projection system) we were able to observe binary stars, the constellations of Scorpio and Sagittarius in the Southeast, the Planet Saturn, Galaxies, Nebulae... and one of the most famous asterisms in the world: “The Teapot”.
It was certainly a very special night to enjoy on vacation with family, partner and all those who are passionate about wine and the secrets hidden in our starry sky.
